Me, putting on my starting number.
Pilots meeting
One of the organizers, Alex Wunschheim talking to pilots. Alex also participated and placed 42th.
View to the field. The white line on the front is the flying box marker. The feared sunflower field on the back. It was not so high near the field, but more than 2 meters high further back
Start of the first round. I was in the first group and was late. Me and my timer, Edgars Koks from Latvia running the field.
I had problems with plane. I left the wing upside down before contest. Dymond D-60 servos overheated under the sun (yes, there was really sunshine :) and the thermal drift put the center off by 5mm! I did not realize what happened and recentered them. After first flight I had 5mm reflex. Fortunately, this was last flight counts task and there was no thermals, so I still managed to get 835 points from this round.
Rok Bordon (with plane) and Samo Leskosek from Slovenia.
View to the field and camp.
Entrance to the flying field. Camp on the back.
Sergei Timofejev from Latvia.
Our car with Estonian flag on the left.
Spectacular rainbow with double colors.
Notice the multiple green and purple stripes.
View to the field.
Transmitter impound. Most of the pilots gave away only the antenna. The transmitter was given only when it was impossible to remove the antenna.
Winner and his wing. Martin Herrig became the German Champion 2006. He is one the builders of the Aspirin.

View to the field before senior fly-off. Weather was much better during the fly-off.
First task - all up, last down, 3 launches, 3 minute max. Helpers were located outside the flying box, so flyer was alone. Phil Barnes in front, Bas Preijer on the right, Jean-Bernard Verrier on the left

Phil and Samo Leskosek did not make back to the field. Phil was very high before he started to go back, so it was quite surprising for me that he landed outside the flight box.

The contest was held on the open airfield. Gliders were starting all the time and surfed the big cliff near the airfield. During the flyoff they flew over the model airfield and used "our" thermals.

Group photo. 87 pilots altogether. AFAIK this was worlds largest F3K competition.
Chris Gibbs packing - the rain is approaching fast.
Desk with prices. There was something for everybody. Pilots entered the tent in the order of their rank, so best pilots chosed first.
